Gathering is a project about the sounds of the city of Zaragoza by new media artist Ximena Alarcón (Colombia) and artist and programmer Joe Turner (UK).

Sound  creates a cultural space, which is usually forgotten from the representation or perception of the culture. Sounds travels with us, and continually recreates and transforms our perception about ourselves in a place. Gathering are integral to the creation and dissemination of culture a knowledge.

Gathering is a virtual environment that brings together sound produced and recorded by Zaragozans at their gatherings. It will explore how the intersections of these gatherings inform the aural cultural of the city.
